About the programs
2023 In-line skating programs are open for registration!
The Rookies program, 60 minutes per session, offered to children aged 4yrs + with no previous in-line skating experience required, teaches children how to in-line skate while aiming to develop children’s basic athletic abilities such as balance, lower body strength, coordination and agility in a safe and fun environment. Skates can be purchased at stores like Decathlon, Sport Check and Canadian Tire.
The Speeders program, offered to children aged 4yrs + with basic in-line skating skills, focuses on developing skaters’ skating technique, improves general and speed skating specific strength, increases skating speed and endurance, as well as develops skaters’ confidence through performance progression. Each Speeders session includes 60 minutes skating as well as 20 minutes dryland landing training. Skating boots can be rented from our program, frames and wheels can be purchased from our program or other stores.
In-line skating, with very similar motor skill requirement for ice skating, is a start-up alternative for learning to ice skate. Children completing our in-line skating programs are encouraged to continue with our ice speed skating programs.
